Must Europe Be An American Colony?
Against the "Atlanticist" consensus

Thirdly, and most importantly, Europe must cease being a colony of the United States: a good
proportion of its current troubles, especially the rise of terrorism, can be traced back to the policy of
diplomatic and military subordination to Washington. Aspiring to become the noblemen to
Washington’s imperial hegemon, Europe’s politicians are cutting their constituents’ throats to save
their own necks.
The Germans, the French, the British, and all the rest gain nothing from their governments’ support
for Washington’s wars – including especially the new cold war against Russia. It’s high time the
American occupation of Europe was ended: yes, US troops are still there, sixty years after the end of
World War II. Until the "Atlanticist" consensus holding sway over European policymakers is ended,
the continent will never be independent, prosperous, and free.
Europe is at a crossroads. One path leads to dependence on and subordination to Washington, the
other to an independent course. Which road it takes will determine the future of a continent that
birthed the Enlightenment, the industrial revolution, and the libertarian ideals that made the American Revolution possible.

Ten derde, en vooral, Europa moet ophouden een kolonie van de Verenigde Staten te zijn: een goed
deel van de huidige problemen, met name de opkomst van het terrorisme, is terug te voeren op het
beleid van de diplomatieke en militaire ondergeschiktheid aan Washington. In hun streven om de
ridders te worden van de imperialistische Washingtonse hegemonie, verkwanselen de Europese
politici hun kiezers om hun eigen nek te redden.
De Duitsers, de Fransen, de Britten, en al de rest winnen niets door de steun van hun regeringen
aan de oorlogen van Washington - waaronder speciaal de nieuwe koude oorlog tegen Rusland. Het is
hoog tijd dat de Amerikaanse bezetting van Europa werd beëindigd: ja, de Amerikaanse troepen zijn
er nog steeds, zestig jaar na het einde van de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Tot dat de "Atlanticist"
consensus, die de Europese beleidsmakers in zijn greep houdt, is beëindigd, zal het continent nooit
onafhankelijk, welvarend en vrij zijn.
Europa staat op een kruispunt. Een pad leidt tot afhankelijkheid en ondergeschiktheid aan
Washington, de ander naar een onafhankelijke koers. Welke weg het neemt zal de toekomst van een
continent bepalen waar de Verlichting, de industriële revolutie en de libertaire idealen geboren zijn
die de Amerikaanse Revolutie mogelijk maakte.
